Revamp Your Routine: 5 Simple Tips for a Healthier You

Wake up refreshed and revamp your daily routine.

  1. Sleep: When it comes to revamping your routine we all need it and how much you need is entirely up to you. Typically 6 to 8 hours is the "norm." Preferably 7 to 9 hours is even better while this is common for most. If you want the necessary Z's we all strive for, plan on getting into bed 30 minutes prior and early enough to get your target hours of sleep.

  2. Water: Our bodies are dehydrated as soon as we wake up! To feel refreshed and hydrated drink 1 to 2 glasses within the first 30 minutes of waking up. This will refresh and refuel the body starting the day off right.

  3. Stretches: Doing some stretches or light exercise before showering or heading out the door will get your body's endorphins up and positively impact your day.

  4. Have a Plan: Make a list of tasks the day before. Starting with the most difficult task first and then tackling the smaller tasks will motivate you to complete the rest of those for the day. This psychological effect on our minds releases dopamine, a neurological transmitter in the brain, also known as the "reward center" to motivate, improve mood, and more. The same effect you would feel after a workout.

  5. Don't Overwork Yourself: Hard work and discipline always pay off. Depending on your line of work, it's important to take into account taking a small mental break in between tasks. If you sit in front of a computer all day, work for 45 minutes, and take a 5-minute break. These intervals break up the workload, give your brain a moment to refresh, and continue with a clear mind.

No matter the day you may encounter, YOU come first. Always remember that for a healthier you and take on the day with full force!
